Observatory

I have been spending some time this week working on updating several sections of the website including the observatory  and images page sections.  I have made several changes in the subpages below to improve  the layout of the website a bit.   

The interior work at observatory is finally finished.  Check back soon to this area for new photos, videos, etc.  I expect to have new content posted here sometime the week of Aug 8th 2011.

Finish up Observatory Dome Meade Lx-200GPS on pier

Dome Area

The observatory dome is the 8 ft diameter Explora Dome.  The dome is mounted to a 10ft diameter building with 2 by 4 construction,  finished with   white steel sheeting exterior.  The walls are reinforced with heavy steel banding straps for structural rigidity.  I have  walked on the wooden ring, the ring and walls are quite strong.
